Explained: Brew U Kicks Off at Old Town Pour House, May 24th

Beginning Wednesday, May 24 and continuing every Wednesday for four weeks, Old Town Pour House (1419 N. Wells) is launching their inaugural Brew U Beer School…for the price of one penny per class.

The classes – which are each open to the first 50 who sign up via eventbrite – are led by beer industry practitioners and breweries and will offer snacks and beer tastings. The 45-minute classes will highlight:

Wednesday, May 24 @ 6:30pm: Beer 101, featuring Revolution Brewing

  • Tasting and Evaluating Beer

Wednesday, May 31 @ 6:30pm: Beer 201, featuring Boston Beer, Dogfish Head & Angry Orchard

  • Beer Styles and Characteristics

Wednesday, June 7 @ 6:30pm: Beer 301, featuring Half Acre

  • Regions and Brewing Process

Wednesday, June 14 @ 6:30pm: Beer 401, featuring New Belgium & Bells

  • Beer and Food Pairing & Advanced Hops

For each Brew U attended, guests will be entered into a raffle to win a Revolution Brewery tour for two, and a $100 Old Town Pour House gift card.
