BLVD Steakhouse (817 W Lake St.) is reopening Aug. 12, the West Loop restaurant will offer a number of daily specials and a new “high-low” happy hour.

For the second year in a row, BLVD Steakhouse is a 2020 Wine Spectator Award winner for the ‘World’s Top Restaurants for Wine’ and appropriately offers options to showcase its wine list. Specifically, Beverage Director and sommelier Ted Rink will offer Vintage Thursdays:

"Vintage Thursdays allows me to select back vintage wines from distributors, held inventory, and wine auctions and offer that wine-by-the-glass to guests at-cost; we quite literally charge them what we as a business pay for the wine ourselves. This gives guests an opportunity to try wine they otherwise may not have the privilege of experiencing due to financial reasons, volume issues (i.e. they do not wish to purchase an entire bottle of wine), actual availability or other restraints."

Vintage Thursdays will remain at BLVD Steakhouse for the foreseeable future and will also feature complimentary blinis topped with crème fraîche and caviar at a predetermined (and often unspecified) point in the evening.

On Friday and Saturday, Rink offers guests the restaurant’s Magnum Program, which features tableside glass pours from an exclusive magnum of wine.

Finally, as an accompaniment to BLVD Steakhouse’s $1 Oyster Sundays, Rink hand-selects a bottle of sparkling wine to feature by-the-glass pours from that evening.

Those who prefer liquor to wine will be offered Whiskey Wednesdays—a new customized whiskey flight program that allows guests to choose from four offerings: Small Batch, West Coast, Japanese, and The Pappy Collection. Each whiskey pour is paired with a house made bite that compliments the liquor.

BLVD Steakhouse’s Happy Hour will be available from 5 to 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday through Friday, the new menu features unique “high-low” bites like foie gras buffalo wings ($8 for six), deviled eggs topped with king crab ($7 for four), truffle stadium fries ($6), cabernet braised short rib sliders ($10 for two) and more. For drinks, guests will be offered wine by the glass starting at $7 and cocktails starting at $7, such as the Endless Summer featuring local CH Distilling Vodka, Pur Likor Spiced Blood Orange, white cranberry and lime. Members of the hospitality industry will also receive a late-night discount of 25% starting at 8 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays.
