It’s round. It’s glazed. And for the first time in Chicago, it’s FILLED. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts has introduced the NEW Original Filled Doughnut touching down Monday, June 17 in Chicagoland shops located in Homewood at 17815 South Halsted Street, Evergreen Park at 9150 South Western Avenue and Hillside at 110 South Mannheim Road.

Krispy Kreme’s Original Filled is an interpretation of the Original Glazed doughnut timed with the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Featuring Krispy Kreme’s Original Glazed doughnut, the new product is initially offered with a choice of two fillings: Classic Kreme and Chocolate Kreme.

“Introducing an entirely new doughnut is exciting for Krispy Kreme,” said Carlos Larcada, President of Chicagoland Restaurants, LLC. “We can’t wait for fans to blast off with the new Original Filled Doughnuts!”

Additionally, Krispy Kreme will reward doughnut lovers for meeting the National Doughnut Day challenge of 1 million free doughnuts given away by offering fans a FREE Original Filled Doughnut on Saturday, June 22, one doughnut per guest.
