Black Wednesday Dining and Drink Specials

From the West Loop to the North Shore, an array of restaurants, lounges and pubs will offer drink and food specials on Black Wednesday, November 22, the eve of Thanksgiving Day. 

Timothy O'Toole's 
Timothy O’Toole’s Pub will hold their eighth annual “Turkey Testicle Festival” and pumpkin pie eating competition on Black Wednesday, November 22. The turkey testicle eating contest will take place at 9 p.m., with the winner receiving a whole frozen turkey to prepare for their own Thanksgiving Day feast. At 11 p.m., the pub will hold a pumpkin pie eating contest with the winner receiving a $25 gift certificate. To enter the eating competitions, simply show up at O’Toole’s and register before 9 p.m. 

Koi 
Koi Fine Asian Cuisine and Lounge will offer half-priced signature cocktails on Wednesday, November 22. The Evanston-located restaurant will feature handcrafted martinis and cocktails for $5-$6 each (regularly $10-$12). Selections include Dragonfly Mai Tai, Cucumber Elixir and Lychee Martini.

Macello
West Loop Italian Ristorante, Macello, will feature half-priced bottles wine from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Black Wednesday, along with and live entertainment by Italo-jazz quartet La Tosca starting at 7 p.m. Pair your vino with Macello's Puglia- influenced cuisine, including wood-fired pizza, house made pasta and more. 

Artango 
Artango Bar and Steakhouse in Lincoln Square will offer discounted Latin libations on Black Wednesday. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., guests may enjoy $7 cocktails (margaritas, mojitos, caipirinhas) $7 glasses of red and white wine and $4 domestic brews. $9 bar snacks include empanadas, chorizo and steak sandwiches and grilled pizza. 

Bites Asian Kitchen 
Bites in Wrigleyville suggests mingling with friends over buckets of Singha and Sapporo (5 per bucket) for $18 all day. Buy one, get one half-priced select "bites" (basil cream mussels; emerald gyoza; tuna tostada; crispy shrimp cakes and more) are offered from 5-7 p.m.
