Black Wednesday and Black Friday Features

Thanksgiving week is almost upon us, and local restaurants around town will celebrate with a bevy of pre- and post-Turkey Day festivities. From trivia and dancing on Black Wednesday to freebies and half-priced wine on Black Friday, each dining promotion and party is detailed below.

BLACK WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 23

On Wednesday, November 23, Nacional 27's dance club will feature DJ X at the turntables from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Spice up the night with bottle service and mixers, including Avion tequila ($200). The Black Wednesday event will have a $10 cover charge. Pre-party dinner reservations are available by calling 312-664-2727.

Lakeview's D.S. Tequila Company will host "Team Turkey Trivia" from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Black Wednesday. Trivia is free to play and cash and prizes will be awarded. Sign up starts at 8 p.m. Drink specials include: $15 pitchers of Crispin Mixology; $15 pitchers of Miller Lite, Blue Moon, Crispin, Leinenkugel's; $3 Fireball shots. 

Gobble down tacos and more paired with tequila or mezcal on Thanksgiving Eve. Taco Joint (River North and Lincoln Park) will feature all tequila and mezcal at half-price, in addition to any two tacos paired with a "Black 'N' Green" margarita for $10 (dine in only).  

BLACK FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25

Show off those shopping bags! Cantina Laredo, located in River North just steps from the Mag Mile, will offer Black Friday shoppers a complimentary queso blanco with the purchase of an entree (white queso with poblano peppers, spinach and artichokes, regularly $8.49). Simply show off your retail finds to your server to redeem the offer. Cantina Laredo will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

'Tis the season for wine in the West Loop. After holiday shopping, head to Macello anytime after 4 p.m. for half-off select bottles of wine. The full menu, featuring the cuisine of Puglia, will be available until 11 p.m.
