Full breakdown: Barbakoa Celebrates National Tequila Day with Four-Course Paired Tequila Dinner

To celebrate National Tequila Day, Barbakoa (1341 Butterfield Road) is hosting a four-course paired Tequila Dinner. Although National Tequila Day is on July 24th, Barbakoa is kicking off the celebration early on Thursday, July 23rd at 7pm. The prix fixe dinner is $65 per person and includes food and craft tequila cocktails from Patron. The menu will include specially prepared dishes by Executive Chef Dudley Nieto, including:

Hors D’oeuvres:

Empanada de Pato – Turnover filled with roasted duck, almonds, olives and tomato, topped with morita cream

Rollitos de Jicama – Thinly sliced jicama filled with shrimp or tuna ceviche with spicy aguachile

Paired with:

Roots of Essence – Bouquet of fragrant spring flowers and sweet ginger in a glass, with Patron Silver, Domaine de Canton (ginger liquor), St. Germain, cherry blossoms and a pink ginger ice ball

First Course:

Tamalito de Flor y Queso – Filled with squash blossoms, panela cheese, and poblano cream sauce

Paired with:

The Sun Also Rises – Barbakoa’s spin on the classic Hemingway daiquiri, featuring Patron Silver, Maraschino Liquor, grapefruit juice, lime, and a touch of hibiscus

Second Course (choice of one):

Chile Sorpresa – Fire-roasted poblano pepper filled with shrimp, bay scallops, fish, and tomatillo Serrano, dressed with plantain and Jamaica-Cascabel sauce

Marucha Sin Hueso – Grilled flat iron steak with Peruvian potato cake and spicy chimichurri sauce.

Paired with:

Tequila con Agua de Jamaica – Next level edition of the classic Mexican refreshment, with Patron Anejo, sweet Jamaica hibiscus tea, and a sweet tajín rim

Third Course:

Napoleon en Brasilia – Chocolate napoleon filled with passion fruit, mango mousse, and topped with a raspberry-blueberry starfruit sauce with a hint of Patron

Paired with:

Coco Granada – Sweet and frothy dessert cocktail with a soft finish and subtle complexity, with Patron Silver, Pama Liquor, coconut milk, and house-made ginger syrup
