Arlo Chicago is celebrating its one-year anniversary with the launch of Dining in the Dark, a blindfolded dining experience at the hotel’s onsite restaurant, About Last Knife. The series allows guests to take a culinary journey in an atmosphere where their senses are heightened.

Upon arrival, guests will enter a realm of sensory experience as they are presented with their seats. With a blindfold as a getaway, taste and aroma intensify as guests partake in a secret three-course menu including an appetizer, main and dessert. After purchasing their ticket, guests must choose from the Red (meat) Menu, Blue (seafood) Menu and Green (vegan) Menu options. The menu itself is a mystery, offering a carefully crafted selection of dishes that invite guests to explore new flavors in a way they’ve never experienced before.

As patrons partake in dishes created to complement their palette, they will be enveloped in complete darkness, heightening their senses as they experience the flavors, textures and aromas that make up each dish. The experience encourages guests to disconnect from social media distractions and the “phone eats first” dining culture as they embrace the present moment and foster connections with the people and food around them.

Dining in the Dark is an ongoing series at Arlo Chicago on select Saturdays. Reservation times include first seating from 6-7:30 p.m. and second seating from 8:30-10 p.m. Upcoming dates include:
