To continue support for small businesses, Amex and Resy have partnered with independent, local restaurants across Chicago. 

American Express and Resy are teaming up for a month-long campaign, “American Express and Shop Small Present: The Resy Tastemakers,” helping young diners rediscover some neighborhood culinary options, giving them incentives to try out restaurants that are new to them - such as Mi Tocaya, a neighborhood restaurant in Chicago bringing the dishes and drinks that are inspired by the Chef’s Mexican heritage. 

Here’s what diners can take advantage of: 

  • Amex & Resy Pick Up the Check: “Dinner On Us-All Month Long” 

    • Starting August 9th, Amex and Resy will host dining events at 4 neighborhood restaurants in Chicago, and will pick up the check, up to $99 per person.

      • Reservations for these weekly Wednesday events (Aug. 9, 16, 23, 30) will drop on Mondays at 10 a.m. EST for ALL to register for on Resy.com/shopsmall or the Resy app. You can find the full list of restaurants participating in these events below.

  • Card Member Offer: 

    • Starting August 1st, eligible American Express Card Members can enroll for an offer to redeem a $15 statement credit when they spend $60 or more in a single purchase at select Resy restaurants (up to 2x) by August 31, 2023 at 200 select Resy restaurants around the country during the month of August.

Four Chicago Restaurants Participating in Weekly Wednesday Night Events 

  • Wednesday, August 9: Mi Tocaya, a neighborhood Mexican restaurant in Chicago bringing the dishes and drinks that are inspired by the Chef’s Mexican heritage. 

  • Wednesday, August 16: TenGoku Aburiya, owned by Michelin star Chef serving Japanese food

  • Wednesday, August 23: Lula Cafe, offering casual brunch from sustainable sources and additional options for vegetarians

  • Wednesday, August 30: Cherry Circle Room, is a restaurant melding the building's historic original features with modern design elements
