AIRE, one of Chicago’s rooftop decks, announced that they will debut a 3,800 sq. ft. mural on Thursday, May 30, 2019. Located 24 stories above the Loop at 100 W. Monroe at the Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago, this blacklight mural will cover the entire East, West, and South facing walls of AIRE. Designed and created by Onur, an international artist, this vintage inspired piece is meant to immerse viewers in a dream-like “vignette” thus evoking emotional and introspective feelings while drifting amongst the clouds. The imagery of the mural will transform and change in appearance from day to night offering different versions and interpretations of the story. The mural is produced by the curatorial team, Beauty & Brawn.

Throughout the summer, AIRE will also introduce a monthly Rotating Artist Series in partnership with Beauty & Brawn and Maplewood Brewery & Distillery. The series launch will feature an interactive installation designed and fabricated by Chicago artist, Tristan Hummel, which will then be redesigned and reimagined by a different local artist every month, utilizing a different artistic medium. Beauty & Brawn will oversee the curation and arts programing for the upcoming series and Maplewood will be releasing a pale ale, aptly named the “Up in the AIRE Pale,” available in cans created by local artist, Chris Cantore. In addition to the exclusive canned beer, other year-round and seasonal offerings will be available on draft along with a rotating boozy shake featuring Maplewood beer and spirits.

“The Hyatt Centric team is thrilled to have supported and co-facilitated two highly innovative and visionary works of art as a gift to the Chicago community,” said Karen McGuigan, General Manager at Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago. “We have an incredible and dedicated team of curators, local and international artists, local businesses and company staff who have helped us leave our indelible mark on the city stories high above the hustle and bustle of the busy Chicago Loop and on the global art landscape as well. Whether viewers join us up in air or take in the beauty and creativity from the street below, we are proud to introduce art that everyone can enjoy.”
