Friday, September 13th is National Cachaca (pronounced “kuh CHAA kuh”) Day or National Caipirinha Day. To mark the occasion, Texas de Brazil locations, including the Chicago and Schaumburg locations, will be offering $5 Caipirinhas all day on Friday, September 13.
The spirit is made only in Brazil and is considered the first distilled sugar cane spirit in the Americas, pre-dating rum (made with molasses) by nearly a hundred years. Caipirinhas are the national drink of Brazil. Made with only three ingredients (Cachaça, lime, and sugar), this is a tangy drink that holds a colorful history.
