The end-of-summer festival returns to Chicago’s North Side with the 24th Annual Ravenswood ArtWalk on Saturday, September 12th and Sunday, September 13th. The Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) partners with the Ravenswood Industrial Corridor for a weekend that highlights the hub of artisans, manufacturers, and brewers!

Each year, over 10,000 visitors explore the Ravenswood ArtWalk, enjoying a weekend of art, music, food, and community while getting a peek inside the spaces that help define Ravenswood. Stretching from Lawrence to Irving Park along Ravenswood Avenue, ArtWalk features open studios and galleries, pop-up performances and activations, an Outdoor Arts Market, Children’s Corner, and a pop-up Beer Garden.

“ArtWalk is a true celebration of the local art community here in Ravenswood,” shares Amy Czarkowski, Director of Events & Marketing for the GRCC. “It’s a unique opportunity for artists and makers to participate in the Outdoor Market, as well as those who have studios near the festival to open their doors and welcome guests in.”

One of the experiences with ArtWalk is the access to historic buildings. Explore all the old buildings of the Ravenswood Industrial Corridor while visiting virtual artists, ceramic studios, leatherworkers, filmmakers, and more. Studios and galleries host open house events all weekend-long, welcoming festival goers to see inside the spaces where they work.

Explore over 30 participating locations and shop from hundreds of local artists at this two-day annual celebration of the arts. Attendees will have the chance to connect with artisans of all kinds including painters, jewelers, brewers, teachers, dancers, potters, photographers, musicians, and more. At the event’s center, the Outdoor Arts Market will feature over 90 makers and artisans, live music from local talent, beer from Begyle Brewing, food trucks, and a children’s corner. Crafts and family-friendly activities will be spread throughout the festival.

ArtWalk Highlights Include:

  • Outdoor Arts Market & Beer Garden (Ravenswood & Berteau): features over 90 local artists, food from 5411 Empanadas, Barry Sweets, Sausage Fest Truck, Soul & Smoke, and more, beer from Begyle Brewing, and a non-alcoholic beverage tent benefiting a local not-for-profit.
  • Indoor Arts Market: ArtWalk will include two indoor arts markets at Bad Coffee (1801 W Berteau) and KOVAL Distillery (4241 N Ravenswood Ave). Explore more buildings along Ravenswood Ave while meeting even more local artists and artisans.
  • Live Music: Enjoy two live music stages at ArtWalk this year. One stage will feature headlining bands like Angela James, Full Spectrum Bluegrass, Rami Gabriel, and Wicked Drawl. The second stage will feature programming provided by Rendezvous Arts including a violin-led Latin Jazz quartet, bluegrass trio, Jazz trio, and more.
  • Big Teeth Productions’ 60 Second Film Festival: Big Teeth is proud to bring back the “Big Teeth Small Shorts” 60-Second Film Festival for its tenth screening at the Ravenswood ArtWalk. This free, 15-minute showcase features original short films, each exactly one-minute long and inspired famous work of art. Screenings happen every 20 minutes from 11am – 6pm both Saturday and Sunday.
  • Lillstreet Art Center Open House: Visit Lillstreet Art Center during the Ravenswood Art Walk and explore one of Chicago’s creative communities! Enjoy a self-guided tour through three floors of studios, galleries, and retail spaces. Explore open exhibitions, discover artist-made work, and connect with Lillstreet’s community along the way. Stop by for live demonstrations happening throughout the weekend, get a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, and take a break with coffee, pastries, or a snack from the Lillstreet Café. Whether you're discovering Lillstreet for the first time or returning as a friend, there's something for everyone to enjoy!

“ArtWalk has long been an incredible opportunity for us to support this incredible community of makers in Ravenswood,” shares Gene Wagendorf III, Executive Director of the GRCC. “Donations from the festival make a significant impact on how our chamber supports locally owned small businesses and creatives. We know everyone’s dollars are spread thin these days and we’re grateful for everyone who supports our efforts and spends their day with us in Ravenswood.”
