Reporting notes: 2 Towns Ciderhouse Tap Takeover/Meet the Cidermaker at Mac’s Wood Grilled
The tapping features three extremely limited ciders: 2017 Riverwood, a Prosecco-style cider aged in Chardonnay barrels; 2016 La Mûre, a Lambic-style cider aged in Pinot Noir barrels; and Kentucky Bourbon-Barrel Aged Nice & Naughty, an imperial spiced cider aged for 12 months. Year-round favorite Brightcider, an award-winning hard apple cider made with Newtown Pippin apples, rounds out the lineup.
Dave Takush, 2 Towns Ciderhouse founder/head cidermaker, will be in-house from 7-8 p.m. to discuss cider making, plus he’ll be in the hot seat for a game of “Stump the Cidermaker.” Attendees will be able to ask Mr. Takush cider-related questions; those who stump him win 2 Towns gear (one prize per person). There is no cover charge to attend; ciders range from $6-$9 each (keep the glass). Tapping at 4 p.m.; the 2 Towns crew will be in-house from 7-10 p.m.
