Begyle Brewing and Dovetail Brewery will bring back Oktoberfestiversary for a two-day fall celebration Oct. 10–11 in Chicago’s Ravenswood Corridor. The annual event will also mark Begyle Brewing’s 14th anniversary with beer, live music, food vendors and activities for all ages.
Oktoberfestiversary runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11. The event will take place at 1800 W. Cuyler Ave., between the two breweries near Ravenswood and Belle Plaine avenues.
More than 50 beers are expected to be featured during the weekend, including special tappings from Begyle and Dovetail. The entertainment lineup is expected to include 13 local bands, along with additional activities throughout the two-day event.
Nine Chicago food trucks and pop-ups are scheduled to participate. The lineup includes Bad Johnny’s Wood-Fired Pizza, Barry Sweets, Beard & Belly, El Zorro Tacos, Happy Lobster, Mac Dynamite, Soul & Smoke, The Fat Shallot and Yum Dum. Offerings will range from pizza, tacos and sausages to lobster rolls, barbecue, sandwiches, dumplings, macaroni and cheese and desserts.
The event will once again benefit The Friendship Center, a Northwest Side food pantry that has served the community since 1969. A suggested $5 donation will be collected at the gate.
Begyle and Dovetail have partnered with The Friendship Center through their Mayfestiversary and Oktoberfestiversary events since 2018. According to organizers, gate donations from the events have provided the equivalent of nearly 4 million meals, with this year’s events working toward a cumulative goal of 4.5 million meals.
The Friendship Center currently serves approximately 6,000 people each month through its full-choice food pantry and other programs. In addition to fresh groceries and everyday pantry items, the organization provides pet food, hot meals, home delivery for homebound residents, SNAP assistance and other resources. According to the organization, a $20 donation can provide approximately 150 meals for seniors and families experiencing food insecurity.
Oktoberfestiversary is open to all ages and takes place Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11, at 1800 W. Cuyler Ave. in Ravenswood.
