Craft Cocktails Bar

In tune with the changing of the season, Z Bar takes a deep dive into florals and white spirits for its spring series of monthly Wanderlust classes in April, May and June. The classes take guests on a journey with a focus on the floral side of gin and other spirits, into Portugal and its white wines and finally ending with gin from North America to the Netherlands.

On one Thursday evening each month, Vlad Novikov, Z Bar’s Director of Cocktails & Culture, leads the interactive classes in the bar’s Private Salon on the 6th floor of The Peninsula Chicago, 108 E. Superior St, where guests learn the history and background of the beverage while sampling its varietals.

The April class toasts to warmer weather by exploring the floral side of gin and other spirits with Z Bar’s signature flower- and herb-topped cocktails in the sun-filled salon. Guests will experience an educational but casual tasting of spirits, ‘The Z’ cocktail and more with small paired bites from Z Bar. Tickets are now available on Eventbrite here.

In May, forget Port – explore the bright future of the wine-soaked country of Portugal with a tasting tour of grapes that you might not know, with a focus on its white wines. Then in June, Novikov will spotlight all things gin during an entertaining, Mad-Men-esque class – since a proper martini will never go out of style.

The spring Wanderlust class schedule is as follows:

  • April 25: Florals for Spring
  • May 23: White Wines of Portugal
  • June 20: June… Is For Gin

Each class will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Z Bar’s private salon. The cost is $45 per person and tickets are available by visiting zbarchicago.com
