WHISTLER JAM – Mondays, 9:00 p.m., starting in October: Carrying on its nearly decade-long mission as an incubator for new musical talent, The Whistler introduces a new, Monday night jam session called simply, The Whistler Jam. Dynamic rhythm section and Whistler mainstays Matt Ulery (bass) and Quin Kirchner (drums) lead a house band on Monday nights playing a set of American songbook tunes and other choice, lesser-known jazz standards, followed by an open jam session welcoming any and all jazz musicians to join in. (Fun facts: Matt Ulery's band Loom was the first ever band to perform at the Whistler back in 2008; and Quin Kirchner is a member of three bands on the Whistler's in-house record label: In Tall Buildings, blink., and the Dave McDonnell Group.)

WHISTLER COCKTAIL LAB – Last Sunday of Each Month, 5:00 p.m.: On Sunday, September 24th, The Whistler celebrates their 9-year anniversary by launching a monthly experimental cocktail series called Whistler Cocktail Lab. On the last Sunday of each month, in addition to offering their regular drink menu, the bar will feature a second, smaller menu featuring cocktails with odd ingredients, unexpected techniques, rare spirits and other curveballs. The Cocktail Lab essentially serves as an open R&D session where The Whistler’s bartenders can push their guests palates with accessible but experimental cocktails. Whistler Cocktail Lab drinks start at $8, and are available while supplies last.

ZARAGOZA POP-UP DINNER – October 7, 5:00-9:00 p.m.: Drawing again from its spirit of collaborative community, The Whistler joins forces with its friends at Birrieria Zaragoza (4854 S Pulaski) to host a one-night-only Zaragoza pop-up at The Whistler. The $20 dinner runs from 5:00–9:00 p.m. and includes food from Zaragoza and a tequila-fueled Whistler cocktail. While guests enjoy dinner and drinks, Michigan-based DJ Jeffrey Caston will provide a tropical soundtrack.
