When: January 12-16th

Where: Roka Akor (456 N. Clark St.)

Start the New Year with new sake savvy at Roka Akor Chicago. With the launch of Sake Week 2015, January 12-16, the stylish steak and sushi restaurant aims to share their sake love (and knowledge!) with their guests. Tenzing Wine and Spirits' Sake Portfolio Manager, Tona Polamino will guide guests through a sake tasting and brief history of the Japanese rice wine during the restaurant's lunch service Monday, Tuesday and Friday from noon to 2pm, and during dinner service Wednesday and Thursday from 5pm to 7pm.

Guests who choose to participate will have the opportunity to taste eight different sakes, considered to be some of the best in the world for just $15, with a portion of the proceeds donated to Editha House, which provides affordable lodging for cancer patients. The tasting will take place in the restaurant's lounge and once guests pick their favorite sake, they can enjoy a glass of their chosen sake over lunch or dinner. The sakes featured will also be available to purchase by the bottle or glass. All featured bottles will be 25 percent off throughout the week.
