Food Festival Ramen West Loop

urbanbelly along with Chef Bill Kim bring back Ramenfest. Now in its fifth year, the annual Japanese noodle showdown, held in partnership with Star Events, challenges more than 20 of Chicago chefs to create their take on the traditional dish.

This year’s participants include chefs from across the Windy City, from restaurants such as Oriole, Smyth + The Loyalist, Somerset, Aba, Monteverde, Lula Café, Honey Butter Fried Chicken and more. Guests and judges vote on who takes home the crown.

Chef Won Kim will be the DJ throughout the event and the open bar will be curated by a local mixologist.

More tickets will be available for this year’s event than ever before, and it is expected to sell out quickly as in years past. The charity partner is Inspiration Kitchens and a portion of all proceeds will go to their programs that support individuals affected by homelessness and poverty.

The event takes place at 1400 W Randolph St. from noon to 3 p.m. Sun., Feb. 17, 2019. VIP ticket holders gain entry an hour early at 11 a.m.

TICKETS: General admission tickets are $75 per person and include unlimited ramen tastings beginning at 12 p.m., two drink tickets, access to spirit tastings and an urbanbelly gift certificate. VIP tickets are $125 per person and include all of the above, plus early entry at 11 a.m., unlimited drinks, a limited edition Ramenfest t-shirt and custom ramen bowl, access to the VIP lounge, and a signed copy of Bill Kim’s debut cookbook, Korean BBQ: Master Your Grill in Seven Sauces.
