Picking Me Foundation is a donor-supported nonprofit organization that strives to spread awareness and acceptance for those who have a mental illness. The organization is the only one of its kind worldwide, focused on the recently diagnosable (2013) form of OCD, Dermatillomania aka Skin Picking Disorder, for sufferers, supporters, and educational communities alike. They encourage individuals to take back control of their disorder by sharing their stories, ultimately, #PickingMe over Skin Picking.

“We are thrilled to be hosting our 2nd annual Mental (W)illness Event at Mahoney’s, honoring the Will it takes to live with Mental Illness, for Mental Health Month,” said Picking Me Foundation CEO, Founder, & Skin Picking Disorder struggler, Lauren McKeaney. “The event will provide Chicagoans a chance to give back to an underserved community in need of their support while dancing and dining the night away!”

Tickets for this exciting event can be purchased for $80 online or $100 at the door. All ticket purchases and donations will support Picking Me Foundation’s Drawing with Derma art therapy program, provide educational resources for dermatologists, pediatricians, and clinicians, maintain bi-monthly support groups, and send the foundation to exhibit at mental health conferences nationwide.
