Hyde Park

The Passport Vibes Street Festival is being held on Saturday, June 22nd, in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood. Starting at noon, the Afrobeat festival will showcase music from Chicago’s local and international DJs such as Tyn Man, Nesha Vibe, Dee Money, Ko and much more during an evening of music that fuses together traditional Nigerian music, Highlife— a traditional music genre that originated in Ghana—, jazz and funk. In addition to the musical acts and performances, guests can partake in Afrobeat-themed Core Power Yoga and dance classes, a fashion show featuring garments from local designers, retail vendors and food from local African restaurants and a variety of 16” on Center spots such as The Ruin Daily, Saint Lou’s Assembly and The Promontory.

Passport Vibes started in April 2018 as a way to unite the party-goers of Chicago by picking three DJs from different genres and bringing them together to play to one diverse crowd. Expanding that initial experience, this year's street festival is an Afrobeats playground that will bring culture and music to the streets of Hyde Park.

Admission is free.
