Lunch Italian West Loop

The Sandwich Shop Attached to the Soon-To-Open Formento's Will Offer Grab-And-Go Dining and Exclusive Retail Products in Chicago's West Loop.

On Tuesday, January 13, 2015, B. Hospitality Co. will open Nonna's; an Italian-American sandwich and retail shop, which will be operated out of the soon-to-open Formento's. With a separate entrance around the corner on Sangamon Street, Nonna's will offer sandwiches, salads and sides exclusive to the 200 square foot restaurant location. Nonna's will also boast a full retail wall of culinary products, including Formento's homemade sauces, dressings, and exclusive wines. Nonna's will be open daily from 11:00am to 3:00pm.

“As the neighborhood continues to grow and attract new locals and professionals, we are happy to provide a quick and convenient meal using the highest quality ingredients.” - Phillip Walters, co-owner of B. Hospitality Co.

Executive Chef of Formento's, Tony Quartaro, also created the menu at Nonna's, expanding on some of his favorite Italian sandwiches, soups, and salads. Some of the highlights on his Nonna's menu include: Nonna's Meatball Sandwich, Mortadella Dog, and Eggplant Parm Sandwich.

In addition to the food menu, Nonna's will offer a variety of Formento's branded retail items, including a slightly sweet Italian Dressing with a round tang and bright level of acidity and Marinara, one of the Formento's "Mother Sauces" - bold enough in flavor to be eaten on it's own, or used as a base in other pastas and braises. Guests can also look for Garlic Parmesan Dressing, Sunday Gravy, and Giardiniera on Nonna's shelves soon. Ingredients to create these original recipes were carefully selected and imported from numerous regions in Italy.
