Craft Beer Pilsen

Moody Tongue (2136 S. Peoria St.), the culinary brewery in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago, is inviting sweethearts and singles alike to embark on an educational experience on pairing beer with food, as it hosts a Beer and Cake Pairing Class in its Tasting Room on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 4 p.m.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, the class led by Brewmaster Jared Rouben and Pastry Chef Shannon Morrison, teaches guests how to pair a selection of beers with dessert, highlighting the various flavors and aromatics showcased throughout each pairing. The interactive experience takes guests on a layer-by-layer tour of Moody Tongue’s German Chocolate Cake, showcasing the romance between beer and the decadent dessert. Rouben and Morrison, both classmates and graduates of the Culinary Institute of America, take guests on a journey throughout all layers of the German Chocolate Cake, such as a rich yet light espresso speckled cheesecake, the chocolate buttercream frosting, and a chocolate cereal crust, all while learning how to properly pair each layer with specific beers.

Tickets for the beer and cake pairing class are $50.00 plus tax, and can be purchased here.  For additional information please visit www.moodytongue.com or call 312.600.5111.
