Special Events Steakhouse

Michael Jordan’s in Oak Brook (1225 W 22nd St.) will host an exclusive food and wine experience that puts the spotlight on Ken Forrester Vineyards, a winery in the heart of South Africa’s Stellenbosch wine region known for producing spectacular Chenin Blanc. The event is one of only two such stops in the Chicago area for special guest Marthinus Van der Vyyer, International Ambassador for Ken Forrester Winery (and Forrester’s son-in-law).

Van der Vyyer will help kick off the evening at 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 25 with a reception of passed appetizers paired with Sparklehorse Sparkling Brut 2015. The tasting tour continues during a three-course seated dinner highlighting four wines and some of the restaurant’s signature surf-and-turf dishes.

Menu highlights will include The FMC 2016 and Petit Pinotage 2017 paired with South African Coldwater Lobster Tail and Australian Lamb Chop. To complement Michael Jordan’s meaty showstoppers—the Midwest Prime Tomahawk Chop and the 45-Day Dry-Aged Delmonico—guests will enjoy The Bridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2013. After dinner, guests will gather in the Michael Jordan’s Market and Wine Shop for cheese, chocolates and more conversation.
