Special Events French Lincoln Park

The Blanchard, which loosely translates to "white horse" in French, will hold a fun "Jockey and Juleps" fete for Derby Day. On Saturday, May 6, party guests are encouraged to don their finest southern attire and chapeaus as the Kentucky Derby airs at 5:34 p.m. in the lounge. Two of the best dressed race enthusiasts will receive a $100 dining certificate, one awarded for clothing and one for best hat.

A Derby Day soiree would not be complete without bourbon cocktails. Beverage consultant Michael Simon (Acadia; the Wit; Celeste) has created a Sweet Tea Julep made with Old Forester signature bourbon, sweet tea reduction, peach and mint ($14). Executive Chef Ryan Burns will offer items from the new bar menu including Hudson Valley Foie Gras (roasted; black truffle crusted; marbled torchon; rase), shareable snacks (toast and marrow; chick pea fries; escargot; duck rillettes) and entrees (Blanchard burger; steak frites; dover sole).

The Blanchard will open early at 3 p.m. for the Kentucky Derby party.
