Il Culaccino Restaurant celebrates its Grand Opening on August 6, 2019, serving Italian lunch and dinner in McCormick Square, near downtown and lakefront attractions and a short drive from Guaranteed Rate Field and Illinois Institute of Technology.

Anchored in the Arrive Lex Tower, at 2134 S. Indiana Ave., Il Culaccino is the fifth restaurant from the Franco’s Restaurant Group, a 30-year old family of dining entrepreneurs. 

Featuring a 250-seat dining room, wine bar and shaded, tree-covered patio, Il Culaccino is open daily from 11 am. to 11 pm..

Expect twists on Italian dishes, as well as entrees such as Chicken Vesuvio, Chicken Giardiniera, steaks and chops, seafood specials, and a wide array of appetizers, salads, made-from-scratch soups and pastas, including Nonna’s homemade gnocchi.

Il Culaccino’s cuisine has been crafted for sharing with wine, beer or cocktails. The wine-inspired menu will feature 40 wines by the glass and a rotating list of 100 by the bottle. Shareable plates include baked clams, pizzettes, whipped ricotta tuffo, fried and grilled calamari, Italian sausage, peppers and potatoes, and the famous Nonna’s Meatball Salad.

The restaurant is located near the intersection of Cermak Road and Indiana Avenue, near many South Loop and McCormick Square attractions and hotels. 

The 5,000-square-foot restaurant has floor-to-ceiling wine racks on every wall and a 2,000-square-foot patio. The entire restaurant and patio can be also be reserved for corporate events.

Also, the neighborhood’s first all-season patio with a retractable roof is expected to be installed at Il Culaccino by late fall 2019 for al fresco dining, no matter what the weather.
