Chicago Chef Aaron Cuschieri from The Dearborn has beaten celebrity chef Bobby Flay in Food Network's show "Beat Bobby Flay" that aired Thursday, June 20. Aaron made it through two rounds of the competition and won by preparing one of The Dearborn's most famous menu items - the fish and chips: beer-battered Pacific cod with house made chips, tartar sauce and malt vinegar.

"Winning Beat Bobby Flay was a very motivating and inspiring moment for me. I can attribute Beating Bobby Flay to two main reasons: the first is - I know who I am, and I know what I fight for and I do believe that that single phrase makes all the difference in what anyone can accomplish in life. The second is I was prepared. I knew what I had to do and I worked on it. I practiced over and over, I watched the show, I studied up on Bobby Flay, so that when I competed whether I won or lost, I was happy with what I did and I just so happened to win," Cuschieri concluded.

The Dearborn team hosted an event to coincide with the episode that aired last week and raised more than $1,800 to benefit Meals on Wheels.
