Food Holiday Lincoln Park

Belgium’s strong World Cup finish isn’t the only thing worth celebrating in July. Belgium is one of the world’s great beer-producing nations, and we love our Belgian beers here at HopCat, 2577 N. Clark St. So much, in fact, that we’re throwing a party on Saturday, July 21st, which is Belgian National Day, a holiday marking the country’s birth as a constitutional monarchy in 1831.

At HopCat Chicago, we’re celebrating the best way we know how: by enjoying some of our favorite Belgian beers – we’ll have a wide variety on tap and in bottles – along with a twist on our famous Crack Fries. Actually, make that Crack Frites, served Belgian-style with blue cheese-black pepper aioli and pesto aioli. Join us anytime on the 21st after we open at 11 a.m. and let us show you what we love about their beer and food culture.

“Belgium produces some of the most interesting, complex, and unique beers styles in the world, using many traditional techniques, processes, and ingredients that have been stiflingly modernized in much of the rest of the world,” says Adam Roberts, HopCat’s Regional Beverage Program Manager. “Belgium holds a special place in every beer lover’s heart because they have been able to maintain much of their traditional beer heritage, a heritage that produces beers unlike anywhere else in the world.”

As a bonus part of our celebration, we’re also hosting a Belgian-themed beer dinner on July 24th, when we’ll pair five of our favorite Belgian beers with four exclusive courses created by our culinary team. (Visit www.facebook.com/HopCatChifor more details.)
