Now Open Bucktown

Fairgrounds Coffee and Tea has opened its first brick and mortar location in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood at the intersection of North and Damen Avenues. The new concept will bring dozens of craft roasters and specialty teas together under one roof.

Founded by Chicago-based entrepreneur Michael Schultz, Fairgrounds taps into the country’s booming artisan coffee culture to offer a portfolio of curated brews including a mix of national and local roasters, from Dark Matter Coffee and Metropolis out of Chicago, to Stumptown Coffee Roasters (Portland, OR) and Verve (Los Angeles). Specialization continues behind the bar, as a selection of cold brews will be served on draft, and technology will automate the pour over process for a more consistent cup every time.

“We recognized a gap in the marketplace when it comes to choice...we wanted to bring a variety of coffees together in one approachable setting,” - Michael Schultz.

Partnering with local purveyors is a cornerstone of the Fairgrounds mission, so in addition to local coffee and tea purveyors, expect to see a wide selection of local foods to complement housemade sandwiches, salads, and snacks.

Breakfast dishes include Breakfast Tacos with cage-free scrambled eggs, black beans, charred tomato salsa, pickled shallots, queso fresco and cilantro, served on flour tortilla; and the Seoul Bowl with brown rice, wilted kale, shaved zucchini, kimchi, cage-free fried egg, sesame seeds and Siracha; while lunchtime goers can enjoy Hummus and Veggie Wrap with roasted red pepper hummus, cucumber, grape tomato, shaved onion, corn, spring mix, herb vinaigrette on tomato basil tortilla.

Grab-n-go items are also available, such as Funnel Cake Fries with raspberry dipping sauce and Soft Pretzel served with Stumptown Nitro Cheese Dip and spicy mustard
