Dog-Friendly Patios in Chicago

It's almost summer in Chicago and that means patios are now open! The weather is heating up and many of Chicago's best restaurants and bars are opening up their patios to not only guests, but also dogs! Here's a list of dog friendly patios so man's best friend can also soak up those rays. 

EASY BAR

Located at the bustling corner of Division and Damen in Wicker Park, the intimate dog-friendly sidewalk patio at Easy Bar is officially open! Your pooch will enjoy this corner oasis that is a perfect after-brunch spot for happy hour specials including $5 Moscow Mules and Bloody Marys from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. 

KANELA BREAKFAST CLUB

If your canine buddy enjoys morning walks, then stopping by Kanela on your way home for some breakfast outdoors is a must! Kanela offers al fresco, dog-friendly dining at their locations in Andersonville, Lakeview, Old Town, Streeterville and Wicker Park. To accompany the patio openings, Kanela has put together a few seasonal cocktails to pair with the full food menu, also available for outdoor dining. Cocktails include:

• Cinnamon Toast Brunch (vodka, Kahlua, Rumchata)
• Ginger Paloma (tequila, grapefruit juice, lemon juice, ginger syrup)
• Mezcal Margarita (mezcal, triple sec, lime juice, orange juice, agave nectar).

COMMONWEALTH TAVERN

Located in Roscoe Village, Commonwealth's patio is now open to everyone, including dogs! Bring along your pup in tow to Commonwealth on Monday through Friday for deals like half-priced wings and $5 microbrews on Mondays and $6 cocktails on Fridays. All summer, guests can kick off the weekend on the patio with their pooch and enjoy a Friday Half-Price Appetizer Happy Hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

MAK: MODERN ASIAN KITCHEN

Located on Division Street, MAK, Wicker Park's modern Chinese spot, offers casual alfresco dining for you and your furry friends. Take in the warm weather and enjoy MAK's daily specials and happy hour specials al fresco this summer season including half-price alcohol with any purchase on Tuesdays, buy-one-get-one free wangs on Wednesdays, and half-price wine and sake on Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

TAVERN ON LITTLE FORT

It wouldn't be the "dog days of summer" without Tavern on Little Fort's outdoor patio. This patio is a spacious, flower-lined hot spot that your four-legged pal and you and sure to enjoy. Tavern on Little Fort also has a hidden beer garden outfitted with picnic tables that feature built-in beer and wine coolers. Enjoy full bar and food menus alfresco as well as their weekend brunch that features a $5 Bloody Mary bar and a $3 mimosa bar from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
