Dakota 94, located at 5304 W. Devon Ave in Edgebrook, is now open daily beginning at 8 a.m.
Owned by the operating partners of Kanela Breakfast Club, husband and wife duo Peter and Kayla Lardakis, the name "Dakota 94" is a nod to the Lardakis' roots and relationship. A city boy and a country girl, Interstate 94 connects Peter's home in Chicago to Kayla's hometown in North Dakota. Throughout their relationship, the couple has taken many eventful and memorable road trips along the route. Now they're settled in nearby Sauganash Park with their two kids and wanted to bring a family-friendly gathering place to the neighborhood.
The menu offers homemade breakfast items, sandwiches, seasonal salads, shareable starters, hearty entrees and more, ranging in price from $4 to $15. Menu highlights include the Bison Burger (1/3-pound bison burger cooked in bacon, with Uncle Mike's seasoning salt, onion straws, beer cheese, pickle spear, on a brioche bun; $13), Skirt Steak (in Greek marinade, served with fresh cut fries; $18), Mom's Fish and Chips (walleye, secret family batter, homemade chips, lemon caper aioli; $15), and a Nutella Baklava for dessert.
The bar menu has over 15 bottle and can selections as well as six draft beers with a focus on craft brewers like Goose Island, Revolution Brewing, Against the Grain, Urban Chestnut and Sketchbook Brewing. For wine, La Vielle Ferne Rosé will be available on tap. Signature cocktails include a Lemon Drop Martini with house-infused lemon vodka, a Mt. Rush Mule with Union Horse Reserve Bourbon and more.
