Club 77 is set to open this summer at the corner of Wacker Drive and Clark Street. The new Loop-located restaurant and piano bar, located off the main lobby of the 77 West Wacker building, will feature lunch, dinner and happy hour Monday through Friday and dinner service on Saturday.
Executive Chef Patrick Sheerin (City Mouse; Trenchermen; Signature Room at the 95th; Four Seasons; NAHA; Everest) will lead the culinary team, creating contemporary Chicago fare with nods to dishes from his favorite neighborhoods. While the opening menu is still in the development phase, Sheerin has crafted such dishes as "Italian Beef" with Wagyu sirloin, house made giardiniera, roasted peppers and red wine jus, Cappelletti stuffed with sauerkraut, Gruyere, fava leaves, chive blossoms and broth, House Smoked Salmon with green and white asparagus, lime creme fraiche and caviar, and a vegetarian dish made with carrots, Vadouvan, fennel and chile.
Club 77 will offer grab 'n go breakfast and a pre-theatre prix fixe menu for Loop theatre ticket holders. The beverage program will highlight bottled brews, whiskey libations, seasonal cocktails, and a predominately American wine list.
Club 77's grand front room boasts two-story glass walls, mahogany woodwork, a custom 10x14 foot oil painting, leather banquettes, high top tables, oversized chandelier, L-shaped bar with seating for 18 and a baby grand piano. Sexy, funky and neo-soul live music will be performed by local singers and pianists, weekdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The rear dining room, accessible by hidden bookcase doors, features a communal table, traditional tables and banquettes, along with a semi-private dining room enveloped by draperies. An 1,800 square foot, year-round courtyard patio off Clark Street will feature alfresco seating for 60 with retractable roof, lounge furniture, dining tables and ivy clad walls.
Private events, from weddings and showers to business presentations and corporate cocktail parties, may be held in Club77's lounge area, back dining room or courtyard patio, in addition to stunning spaces on the building's mezzanine.
