Now Open Pizza Bronzeville

Home Run Inn has announced the opening of its 9th restaurant at 3401 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in the Bronzeville area of Chicago’s South Side on Monday, September 30.

A percentage of proceeds from opening day sales will go to the Chicago Youth Centers Elliott Donnelly Youth Center in Bronzeville, operating out of Ida B. Wells Preparatory Elementary Academy, 249 W 37th St., a non-profit dedicated to providing youth the tools, resources and opportunities needed to become engaged, well-rounded adults to succeed in the workplace.

The neighborhood eatery will seat up to 50 people and feature a beer wall, which includes 10 beer handles, five wine handles and six cocktail handles supplied by Pour My Beer. In addition to 17 tables in the dining room, Home Run Inn Bronzeville will offer carryout and delivery.

The new restaurant will display a community connection: a mural of Baseball Hall of Famer, Bill Foster, that was hand-painted by local artist Jamiah Calvin. “Bill Foster was a great left-hand pitcher who played for the championship-winning Chicago American Giants,” explained Calvin. “The team practiced in the Bronzeville area and played at the old Comiskey Park. This was an opportunity to celebrate a great athlete and connect the space to the history of the community.”

Home Run Inn in Bronzeville will be open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.; Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
