DOWNERS GROVE, IL (SEPTEMBER 16, 2015) - Barbakoa (1341 Butterfield Road) is celebrating Mexican Independence Day in true Mexican spirit with delicious drink and food specials. Barbakoa’s cuisine and cocktail list are both heavily influenced by Mexican flavors, and the restaurant will pay homage to the country’s freedom on Wednesday, September 16th. Toast to Mexico with tequila, tacos, a pig roast, a piñata, and more!

The celebration will kick off at 6pm with a pig roast on the patio, complete with a piñata and other festive decorations. Grab a complimentary slow-roasted pork taco from Chef Dudley Nieto and wash it down with a $5 margarita. Chef Dudley will also prepare green, white, and red tamales for $5.

Mexico’s Independence Day is a holiday dedicated to celebrating the country’s freedom from Spanish rule. It is traditionally filled with parades, bands, showers of green, white, and red confetti, and patriotism.
