Special Events French West Loop

Calling all Francophiles, the Chicago French Market is celebrating Bastille Day on Saturday, July 14.  Locals and tourists seeking a taste of France in the Second City are encouraged to take part in an authentic French Cheese & Wine Class with Pastoral Artisan, Cheese, Bread & Wine, enjoy live French music by Genevieve Jazz French Duo, and dine on specials from French vendors.

Genevieve Jazz French Duo (Genevieve Padulla (vocals) and Mary Zaborniak (Accordion)) will kick off the day at 11 am – 1 pm and provide musical ambiance as guests dine on Duck à la Orange featuring homemade turmeric gnocchi with seared duck breast, glazed carrots, and Grand Marnier sauce for two at The French Lunchbox, savor French Macarons at famed Parisian confectionary Vanille Patisserie, sip French Wines and Beers at Frietkoten, and purchase Fleur de Lis (Iris) and Parisian Gifts at Les Fleurs. Kids will love the Mime, who will be performing throughout the Market from 11am-1pm.

From 2-3 pm, a French Pastoral Artisan Cheese, Bread & Wine class taught by manager Andy Koechling will explore the terroir of three different French regions. Koechling will pair a cheese and wine from each to show how this matters and how what grows together goes together.  The price is $30/person and a discount on product will be provided for attendees (to host their own personal class for friends later in the day)
