A Taste Of The James Beard Awards on 4/16

If you can’t make it to the first ever Chicago-hosted JBF Awards on May 4, rest assured: You can still get a taste of the action tomorrow night at the Langham Hotel. Executive Chef Anthony Zamora, along with Travelle’s Chef Tim Graham and Pastry Chef Scott Green, are creating a six-course menu with past and present Chicago-based award-winning and nominated chefs, including Chris Pandel of Balena, The Bristol, and Formento’s, Giuseppe Tentori of GT Fish & Oyster, Paul Virant of Perennial Virant and Vie Restaurant, and Andrew Zimmerman of Sepia. An array of wines from E&J Gallo Winery will be headlining a reception that kicks off at 6:30 p.m. — a festive precedent to the 7:30 p.m. dinner, happening in the hotel’s Devonshine Ballroom. Dish highlights include halibut with English peas and razor clams and Spring rack of lamb with smoked cashews and baby artichokes.
